- Ancient beech and mixed Carpathian forests — thick, shady stands of beech, fir and spruce that feel rightly old: lots of moss, fallen trunks and cool forest scent. Great for short shady walks and for seeing the understory plants that don’t survive in younger woods.
- Prut River valley and riparian gorges — the park protects stretches of the Prut with pebble banks, small cascades and willow-lined meanders. Perfect for easy riverside strolls, birdwatching and quiet photography, especially in low light.

- Flower-rich mountain meadows (pastures) — when summer comes the cleared high meadows bloom with a mix of wildflowers and orchids, framed by the dark forest edge. Good timing yields carpets of color and lots of pollinators.
- Wildlife watching opportunities — the park supports typical Carpathian animals: deer, wild boar, foxes and a rich bird community (woodpeckers, owls, raptors). Dawn and dusk are the best windows; bring binoculars and patience.
- Marked hiking and eco-routes — a network of signposted trails and short ecological routes makes it easy to plan day hikes without a guide. Trailheads are close to parking/settlements, and local visitor points will hand you maps.
- Traditional villages and cultural landscapes — the park is threaded with small Hutsul-style villages, wooden churches and pastoral scenes. Walking a nature trail often blends easily into seeing carved houses, shepherding pastures and local folk life.
