- Sunset horizons and night-sky photography — Because the beach is so wide and flat you get huge, uninterrupted horizons for sunsets, and when the tide’s out the exposed sand reflects colour beautifully. After dark the open vista makes for excellent stargazing and long-exposure shots — just keep to public paths, respect nearby houses, and don’t light illegal fires. (My personal favourite — great for late-day lounging and subtle night photography.)
