- Glen Iris Inn & Gardens — A historic mansion with formal gardens that step down toward the river; pretty to wander and handy if you want a sit-down meal or a break from hiking. The contrast between cultivated gardens and wild gorge scenery is oddly satisfying.
- Wildlife & Birding — The Genesee corridor attracts deer, otters, great blue herons, and often bald eagles in cooler months. Bring binoculars and scan the trees and river bends—early morning or late afternoon is best for animal activity.
