- Hadibo (Hadibu) Souq & Fish Market — The island’s capital market is where people actually live and trade: fresh fish hauled in that morning, frankincense stalls, Socotri handicrafts and the casual hustle of daily life. Best for people-watching and picking up simple local goods.
- Frankincense/Boswellia Groves (Hidden gem) — Small, scattered Boswellia trees where locals still collect resin. It’s a sensory visit: the piney, citrusy smoke and the chance to talk with harvesters about a practice that’s been here for generations—far more intimate than the big viewpoints.
- Samha Island (Hidden gem) — A tiny, remote islet south of the main island with pristine reefs and seabird colonies. Not a day-trip spot from every schedule, but if you can arrange a local boat it’s one of the archipelago’s quietest, most unspoiled marine stops.
- Abd al Kuri Island (Hidden gem) — The second-largest island in the archipelago: traditional fishing villages, raw landscapes and very few visitors. It’s genuinely off-the-map for most tourists—expect rustic travel, stunning marine life and an authentic island culture if you can make the boat journey.
- Overnight under the Dragon’s-Blood Trees / Socotri Village Homestay — Not a single landmark but an experience: camp or stay with a family near a dragon-tree stand, cook over fire, hear local stories and watch the Milky Way spill overhead. It’s what turns a checklist trip into something you actually remember.
