France Itinerary Planner

Seven days or twenty-one, you set the number, and the route bends around it. Pick what you actually care about, from villages and hikes to beaches and landmarks, then choose a pace that fits how you really travel. A packed Paris sprint and a slow week near Les Calanques are both fair choices, and the finished route follows yours instead of a generic checklist. Add a start point, an end point or a must-see stop, and the plan is built around them.

🙋 FAQFrequently asked questions

Seven days is enough for one or two areas done well, 14 days lets you cover several parts of the country without rushing, and 21 days gives you room for a slower loop with hikes, beaches and small towns. If you have under a week, pick one area and stay put.
Yes, France borders Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Andorra and Monaco, and many of those crossings are short overland hops. Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Spain are the easiest to pair with France on one trip because their border regions sit close to French cities and mountains.

Build a multi-country route

Absolutely. Adjust your trip length, interests, starting point, or travel style and generate a new route in seconds.
Yes, generating and viewing your route is completely free. An offline-friendly PDF version is available as an optional purchase which gives more detailed information for each location on your route.

🗺️ RegionsWhere things are located

France is big, and the distances are real. Paris and Nice sit about as far apart as two famous places in one country can, so trying to hit both plus everything between them in a week is a poor use of your time. Mountain hikes like the Tour du Mont Blanc and island beaches like Palombaggia are far from each other too, and mixing them in a short trip eats days on the move. The planner groups places that sit close together and moves through them in one direction, so your time goes to seeing things, not crossing the country twice.

⚙️ How it worksHow the France itinerary planner works

You choose a trip length, the interests you care about (cities and towns, villages, landmarks, national parks, hikes, beaches, attractions) and a style and pace. From there, the route is built in three moves that all aim at less time on the road and more time at the places you picked. First, nearby locations are grouped together, so you are not zigzagging across France for one stop. Second, those groups are put in a sensible order with one overall direction, so the route flows from one area to the next without doubling back. Third, each stop gets time based on what it is and what surrounds it. A city or town with several attractions close by becomes a base where you stay longer, and the smaller spots around it turn into day trips. Paris is the clearest case. With so much packed into and around it, it earns several nights, and nearby sights are visited from the same bed instead of each getting a new hotel. A lone stop with nothing near it gets a shorter slot, because a long stay there would leave you with empty hours. That is why the days add up the way they do.
