Spain Itinerary Planner

Spain is too big to see in one go, and pretending otherwise is how people end up eating dinner in a train station. Tell us how many days you have, what you like (cities and towns, villages, landmarks, national parks, hikes, beaches, attractions), and how fast you like to move. You can add a start, an end and any stop you refuse to skip, even if it’s only Barcelona. Your pace, your priorities, and a finished route in place of forty open tabs and a mild sense of dread.

🙋 FAQItinerary planner questions about Spain

Seven days is enough for a focused trip built around one or two areas, 14 days lets you cover a good share of the country at a comfortable pace, and 21 days gives room for several regions without rushing. Spain is big enough that fewer places over more days almost always beats a long list.
Yes. Portugal shares a long land border with Spain and is the easiest pairing, with places like Lisbon and Porto reachable overland. France lies to the north across the Pyrenees, and tiny Andorra sits in those mountains between the two, while Morocco is just across the Strait of Gibraltar to the south.

Build a multi-country route
Yes. Stops are sequenced to minimize backtracking and grouped by how close they are to each other, and your chosen travel pace (fast, normal, or slow) adjusts how much ground each day covers.
Absolutely. Adjust your trip length, interests, starting point, or travel style and generate a new route in seconds.
Yes, generating and viewing your route is completely free. An offline-friendly PDF version is available as an optional purchase which gives more detailed information for each location on your route.

🗺️ RegionsWhere things are located

Spain is large, and distances add up quickly. Sagrada Familia and the Prado Museum sit in cities far enough apart that squeezing both into a short trip means a lot of time spent getting between them rather than looking at anything. Picos de Europa feels like another country from the beaches in the south, so trying to cover everything in one go leaves you tired and underwhelmed. The planner groups places that sit close together and keeps you moving in one direction, so you see fewer things, but you actually see them.

⚙️ How it worksHow the Spain itinerary planner works

Pick your trip length, your interests and a pace, and the planner turns them into a day-by-day route that actually makes geographic sense. First, it groups nearby places together, so you don’t zigzag across the country and spend your vacation watching the same stretch of highway from alternating directions. Second, it picks one sensible direction through those groups, so the route flows from one area to the next instead of doubling back. Third, it sets the time at each stop by what the stop is and how much sits around it. Take Andalusia: a city with several worthwhile places close by becomes a base where you stay longer, and the smaller spots nearby turn into day trips from it, so you unpack once instead of every night. A lone village with nothing else around it gets a shorter visit, which is usually the right call. A village is lovely, but nobody needs three days with one church and a cat. The result is a route where the time given to each place is easy to defend.
