- Dinosaur footprints (huellas de dinosaurios) — Hard to overstate this: sheets of ancient limestone with dozens of clear footprints from different species right in the open. It’s the park’s signature thing, easy to reach on guided walks and ridiculously cool if you like paleontology or just weird, giant ancient shoeprints.
- Umajalanta Cave — A massive cave system with tight squeezes, chambers full of stalactites/stalagmites and an underground river in places. Guided trips range from easy walks to proper spelunking; the sense of being deep inside the mountain is unforgettable.

- El Vergel waterfall and natural pools — A refreshing oasis after dusty hikes: a sheer drop, cool pools and places to swim when the weather’s warm. Popular with locals and travelers for good reason — simple, scenic, and easy to access.
- Karst formations, sinkholes and dolines — The landscape is full of collapsed caves and strange hollows that make the scenery feel otherworldly. Walk the rim trails for dizzying views or explore lower trails to see the formations up close.
- Lookouts and short panoramic hikes — Doable half-day walks that reward you with sweeping views over valleys, plateaus and the patchwork fields of small villages. Great for sunrise or late-afternoon light and for getting a sense of the park’s scale.
- Birdlife and Andean fauna — Not a safari, but you’ll spot hummingbirds, raptors circling the cliffs, and other highland species if you move quietly. Best early morning or near water sources like El Vergel.
