Most people only know Srebrenica for the genocide memorial, but if you come only to “tick off” tragedy, you miss what actually matters here: how a living town carries that history in its forests, streets, and quiet routines. Tucked in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s far east, near the Serbian border, Srebrenica is small, hilly, and slow, more like a mountain village than a city.
