- Amager Strandpark (the beach and lagoon) — A surprisingly long, man-made sandy beach with a sheltered lagoon for swimming, windsurfing and easy paddling; you get city skyline views while still feeling like you’ve escaped to proper shoreline.
- Kalvebod Fælled (open plains and wetlands) — Vast reclaimed marshes and grasslands that attract migratory waders and raptors; great for flat, long walks or bike rides and seriously good birdwatching at dawn and dusk.

- Salt marshes and reed beds along Øresund — Brackish habitats full of life: reed warblers, waders and the occasional seal bobbing in the distance; bring binoculars or use the hides to avoid disturbing birds.
- Kastrup Sø and the small lakes — Peaceful freshwater spots ringed by walking paths where dragonflies, frogs and waterfowl hang out; handy for a short, relaxing loop without committing to a long hike.
- Grazing meadows with cows and ponies — Seasonal grazing keeps the landscape open and makes for photogenic, pastoral scenes—good for spotting skylarks and other open-country birds up close (from a respectful distance).
- Coastal paths and skyline viewpoints — Walk or cycle long, flat stretches along the coast for unobstructed views of Copenhagen, Øresund and Malmö on clear days; excellent at sunset and oddly satisfying for plane-spotters too.
