- Ali and Nino kinetic sculpture — A moving metal love story in the middle of the promenade: two human-shaped figures slowly slide toward each other, merge, then separate again. It’s strangely hypnotic and very Batumi — art that doubles as public theatre. Best seen at dusk when the silhouettes play against the sea. (Personal favorite.)
- The sculpture-studded boulevard walk — The boulevard isn’t just a path; it’s a 7-km open-air gallery where Soviet-era façades, glossy new towers, and quirky statues sit shoulder-to-shoulder. Walking here is about discovering odd art, seaside architecture contrasts, and locals doing their thing — not a generic beachfront promenade but a real urban-meets-sea vibe. Great all day; the city lighting adds extra drama after dark.

- Coastal cycling and skating path — A long, smooth stretch made for bikes, scooters, and rollerblades with the Black Sea on one side and interesting public art on the other. Rentals are easy to find, and cruising at golden hour gives you the best views with minimal effort. Perfect for sunset runs and people-watching, and much faster than walking if you’re trying to cover the whole boulevard.
- Nighttime lights and fountain shows — After sunset the promenade turns theatrical: LED-lit trees, illuminated façades and choreographed fountain displays that pulse to music in pockets along the shore. It’s the reason locals linger long after the sun goes down — the whole stretch feels like an outdoor stage. Only relevant at night and worth planning for a relaxed stroll.
- Pebble beach swimming and quick-dip culture — This isn’t soft sand — the shore is mostly pebbles and the sea drops off quickly, which makes for surprisingly clear, deep water a few meters out. Locals treat the beach casually: quick swims, cold-water dips, and sunbathing between cafés and public showers. Practical tip: water shoes help, and watch for stronger currents in places.
