At dawn or dusk you might hear or spot wild boar, foxes or other small mammals — more often glimpses and calls than long encounters, which keeps it exciting.
- Traditional mountain villages and pastoral scenes — Parts of the route skirt old stone villages, summer pastures and terraced fields. You get a real local feel: stone houses, small churches and simple cafés where you can refuel with yogurt, cheese and strong coffee after the hike.
