It’s a working harbor town on Türkiye’s southwest Turquoise Coast, in Muğla province, roughly between Marmaris and Kaş, and it has more layers than its all-inclusive reputation suggests. For backpackers, it’s an easy base: good bus links, a walkable center, and plenty of pensions and hostels near the marina and old town. You get rock‑cut Lycian tombs above the city, boat trips to island-dotted bays, and access to Ölüdeniz and the Lycian Way without being trapped in pure resort-land.
