Forget the idea that Umfurudzi Park is just a backup for when you can’t get into Mana Pools or Hwange. It’s not a consolation prize—it’s a different animal entirely. Tucked in Zimbabwe’s northeast, Umfurudzi is raw, rarely crowded, and surprisingly affordable, with entrance fees that won’t eat your dinner budget. Trails are wild and sometimes overgrown, so don’t expect manicured paths or guaranteed wildlife sightings, but the bush feels honest and unfiltered.
