Honduras Itinerary Planner

Skip the generic loop and build the Honduras trip you actually want. Tell us how many days you have, what you care about and how fast you like to move, and you get a route that matches. Pack in too many stops and you pay for it in rushed days and wasted transfers, so set a pace you can live with. Name a must-see like Copán Ruinas Archaeological Site and it stays in, whatever else shifts around it.

🙋 FAQGood to know before you start

Five days gets you one region done properly, ten lets you link two very different areas without rushing, and fifteen allows a slow loop with room for the far-flung spots. Squeezing too much into five days mostly means paying for extra transfers.
Honduras borders Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua, so all three can join a longer backpacking trip. Guatemala is the most natural pairing because the Copán ruins sit close to the border, and the three countries together make a continuous overland route through Central America.

Build a multi-country route
Yes. Stops are sequenced to minimize backtracking and grouped by how close they are to each other, and your chosen travel pace (fast, normal, or slow) adjusts how much ground each day covers.
Absolutely. Adjust your trip length, interests, starting point, or travel style and generate a new route in seconds.
Yes, generating and viewing your route is completely free. An offline-friendly PDF version is available as an optional purchase which gives more detailed information for each location on your route.

🗺️ RegionsHow spread out things are

Honduras looks small on a map, but its best places sit far apart, and one careless jump can eat a full travel day. Copán Ruinas Archaeological Site is far from the islands where West Bay Beach sits, so cramming both into a short trip means more time getting there than being there. Tegucigalpa is not worth building a trip around unless your plans require it. The planner keeps nearby places together and lays them out in a logical order, so you cover real ground without paying for backtracking. If your days are limited, drop a distant stop instead of squeezing it in.

⚙️ How it worksBuilding your route, step by step

The planner groups places that sit near each other, so you spend days exploring instead of crossing the country twice and paying for the extra transfers. It then picks one sensible direction through those groups, which keeps you from zigzagging and losing half a day to a long haul you could have skipped. Each stop gets time that fits what it is and how much surrounds it. A town with several attractions close by becomes a base where you stay longer, and the smaller spots around it turn into day trips so you unpack once instead of repeatedly. Take La Ceiba: if you pick hikes and beaches, the tool can keep you in town for several nights and send you out from there, rather than moving your bag every morning. Rushing a base town into one night looks efficient but burns your budget on packing, checkout and transit. Choose a slower pace if you want fewer moves, and the route will adjust to give you more room at each stop.
