- Oybin Castle & Monastery Ruins — A dramatic sandstone island topped by medieval castle and monastery ruins; climb the rocky paths for those cinematic views, watch light spill over the ruins at sunrise or sunset, and feel how the place steals the show in every photo.
- Lausche (Luž) Peak — The highest point in the range (around 790-795 m), with broad views into the Czech Republic and across the Lusatian hills. It’s a short but rewarding hike and a classic spot for panoramic photos and windy sandwiches.
- Jonsdorf Felsenstadt (Rock City) — A maze of sandstone towers, narrow slots and tiny ledges made for scrambling and bouldering. Great for a half-day of exploring off-trail-feels-within-reason — very photogenic and surprisingly varied underfoot.
- Zittauer Schmalspurbahn (Narrow-gauge Steam Railway)

- Zittauer Schmalspurbahn (Narrow-gauge Steam Railway) — A historic steam line that threads the valley between Zittau, Oybin and Jonsdorf. It’s practical transport, nostalgic charm, and an easy way to arrive or depart a hike without retracing your steps.
- Olbersdorfer See — A calm reservoir and shoreline trails on the park’s edge. Good for a lazy afternoon swim, birdwatching, or a picnic with reflections of the hills — a quieter contrast to the rock climbs and ridges.
- Ancient forests & wildlife — Beech and mixed spruce woods, mossy boulder fields and lichens give the area a primeval feel. Keep an eye out for deer, foxes, woodpeckers and raptors; early morning or dusk are best for wildlife and soft light.
